LILEE Systems Names Former Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta to Board of Directors

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 21, 2011 – LILEE Systems, the leading provider of advanced communication systems designed exclusively for the railroad industry, today announced that former Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta has joined its Board of Directors. In his role, Secretary Mineta will bring his leadership and guidance to LILEE Systems as it addresses the demand for flexible and reliable radio communications in the rail industry.

Norman Mineta served as the Chairman of the House Transportation and Public Works Committee from 1992-1994 after having chaired the Subcommittee on Aviation and the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation. He was the primary author of the groundbreaking ISTEA legislation – the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991. In 2000, Mineta was appointed as the United States Secretary of Commerce. In 2001, he was appointed Secretary of Transportation where he served until 2006. He is currently Global Vice Chairman at Hill & Knowlton.
