LILEE Systems Unveils DTS-2000 Dynamic M2M Telematics System

October 16, 2014 - Travel & Leisure Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge

LILEE Systems has launched the DTS-2000 Dynamic Telematics System, the next generation of products in the company's TransAir portfolio.

According to a release, built on the new LILEEOS 2.7 platform, the DTS-2000 is designed to address the high availability, low power, and cost efficiency requirements of complex communications networks.

The DTS-2000 represents the next evolution of the company's extensible dynamic transport servers for the transportation industry, supporting mobile and fixed applications in hi-rail, locomotive, and wayside environments.

The DTS-2000 enables lower power consumption and reduced cost by going to "sleep" when not in use, and "waking up" at full function in real time (no need to reboot), the Company said. Built-in sensor tracking turns the server on or off as needed, particularly important in remote locations where communications can be limited and full power is not required, or there are no traditional power sources such as battery or solar power.

The DTS-2000 enables roaming between Wi-Fi and cellular links, greatly enhancing constant, reliable connectivity with the back office, the Company noted. In addition, customers have flexibility to choose between telecommunications service providers to support their individual needs. With multiple options in place to ensure constant connectivity, communications failures are much less likely to be an expensive burden requiring the use of repair crews to fix.

"With the release of the DTS-2000 and new LILEEOS 2.7 platform, LILEE Systems is executing its software-driven approach to network communications, building on a robust platform that is feature-rich and specifically designed to meet the requirements of the transportation industry," said Kevin Nichter, Vice President of Rail Products and Services, LILEE Systems. "Redundant communications, lower power consumption, and reduced costs are among the most critical issues, and we will continue to innovate our products with these requirements at the forefront." LILEE Systems is a communications vendor.
